520			_aThe research is all about finding out if there is a significant relationship between the family structure and the social skills of the respondents coming from the three different types of family structures (The Nuclear Family, The Single Parent Family and The EXtended Family). The researcher focused on mainly three questions to be answered: What is the family structure of the respondents? What is the level of Social Skills of the Respondents grouped according to Nuclear Family, Single Parent Family and Extended Family. Lastly, the researcher wanted to find out if there was a significant difference on the level of social skills of the respondents grouped according to their family structure. The researcher distributed questionnaires to 92 student in Grade 11 and tallied each questionnaire. After gathering the data, the researcher interpreted his data using the following statistical tools: Slovin’s formula, Percentage, Weighted Mean and ANOVA. The researcher then found out that majority of the respondents in grade 11 came from a Nuclear Family, followed by a single Parent family and then an Extended Family. The researcher was also able to to find out that the respondents level of Social Skills for a Nuclear Family and Single Parent Family are at a high level and researcher found out that the null hypothesis that there is no significant difference on the level of social skills of the respondents grouped according to their family structure is accepted. Therefore, the researcher concluded that Majority of the respondents came from Nuclear families, followed by Single parent families then Extended families. The researcher also concluded that respondents who come from a nuclear family can get along with others and create and maintain satisfying relationships, are able to understand the behavior of others and are capable of showing concern when a friend is having a hard time. Those respondents who came from a Single parent family have an easier time getting along with others and can create and maintain satisfying relationships , can interact with their peers in a positive way and can remain calm and relaxed with others and those respondents who come from an extended other people and can build rapport and easily find eye contact with other people. The researcher also concludes that there is no significant difference on the level of Social Skills of the Respondents grouped according to their family structures. The researcher recommends that if there are any similar researches to be conducted in the future, that they conduct their study on a wider area of respondents to validate the result of the present study.
